What is Building People Capability?
One of Yum!’s values is “believe in all people.” This starts with our dedicated process for employee development, or Building People Capability (BPC).
Each year, an employee shares the goals that they hope to accomplish that year. These are discussed with their coach (remember, that’s Yum!-speak for “boss”) to ensure they align with the overarching goals for the business.
Then, we take time in the middle of the year to focus on the individual’s development to ensure that each employee is growing and craft what’s called an Individual Development Plan, or IDP. An IDP focuses on employees’ dreams and outlines how their coach will help them pursue these ambitions.
What does it mean to lead with smart, heart and courage?
Smart leaders are able to combine emotional intelligence and their intellectual strengths to guide and inspire their teams.
When employees lead from the heart, it comes from within. It’s their authentic caring for those around them.
Courageous leadership can means thinking of bold ideas and leading others continually elevate our business through new ideas. It can also translate into having tough conversations to better the business.
